AAJ Board Members continue conversations with Dr. Seth Bible, Dean of Judson College and VP for Undergraduate Studies at Southeastern Seminary, as well as Dr. Jonathan Six, VP for Institutional Advancement – Southeastern Seminary/Judson College, to link the legacy of our original Judson College in Marion, Alabama, to their continuing efforts of educational success in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
“We continue to explore commonality and possible future endeavors, combining our rich educational history and former mission focus honoring the life and service of Ann Judson with their commitment to honor the Judsons and propel their students with a similar focus and legacy into the future,” said AAJ Vice President, Laurie Gruenloh. “We’ve narrowed our ideas to a few specific concepts including a future student award, their desire to build a Judson archival collection on campus from other outside resources, as well as a few other concepts to be detailed later.”
Their newly named Judson College undergraduate program is currently celebrating their 30th Anniversary and Southeastern Seminary will be entering their 75th Anniversary this 2025-2026 school calendar year.
“Our intention is to visit their campus during this upcoming celebratory year as well as a nearby prison where they provide a Bachelor of Arts program for female prisoners,” stated Angela Hales, Secretary/Treasurer for AAJ. “We also hope to present our first award to a female undergraduate student in the Spring of 2026 as we respect the 200th anniversary of the passing of our original namesake, Ann Judson.”
Other AAJ Board Members Mandy Calvert and Shamim Sisson, Ed.D. are also participating in this joint endeavor. If you have additional ideas as Judson alumnae to extend the Judson Legacy in this partnership, please email Mandy at AlwaysAJudson@gmail.com .
