December 5th, 2021 AAJ Update
December 5, 2021
We have formally asked the administration twice to postpone the auction to a later date and President Robinson has declined both times. As a result, we have retained legal representation with Bainbridge Mims Rogers & Smith of Birmingham, AL. An official letter was sent Friday, December 3rd to President Robinson and the Ad Hoc Committee members of the Judson College Board of Trustees requesting the official delay of the event.
If we are unsuccessful with this endeavor, we will have representation at the December 11th auction. We have explored the most manageable methods to raise funds quickly and to have them available to purchase these significant items. It is our understanding that the much-needed list of auction items and their appraised values will be released by the administration tomorrow Monday, December 6th. We are setting up the “Donate Now” button on our alwaysajudson.org website for the purchase of auction items and also for a Facebook ‘Donate’ page. Please keep looking for updates when we determine the final amount we need to raise and the deadline needed to raise the funds to have available for the auction since checks are not allowed!
Along with all of you, we believe that to adequately retain and preserve our archives to honor Judson’s history we need to delay this auction event. The items need to be intact in a secure, climate-controlled location to ensure the archives are also protected with insurance until we are able to create a more permanent location for the items to be displayed. The preservation of our archives will serve as the cornerstone for our Judson Legacy.
Your Judson Sisters,
AAJ Board of Directors and Advisors
