JC Alumna Manda Spencer Foster, EdD ’02, was honored by her colleagues at the 2026 Faculty Celebration of Columbia College in Missouri for her contribution to the publication ‘Echoes of Judson College-A Tapestry of 183 Years of Traditions’ last year as well as her applied research in Trauma-Informed Practice and simulation based learning. She received the prestigious Deans’ Award for Excellence in Scholarship as the college celebrates their 175 th anniversary. Manda has received very positive feedback from many of her colleagues and community members who have read about the JC Legacy and recognize that the college experience can shape the individual as much if not more than the academic teaching received during those key years in university. ‘The work engages substantively with questions of institutional identity, examining how cultural traditions and shared rituals shape student belonging and college choice. This is a contribution of relevance beyond a single institution’s history,’ cited Dr. Ariel Robinson.
