April J-Day ’24 Event

AAJ President Cynthia Gore informed alumnae that their committed financial partnership with Always A Judson has continued efforts for over two years to safely and efficiently preserve the Judson Legacy Archival Collection.  She highlighted the new specific fundraising campaign recently launched to help with costs and also shared the vision for the Judson Legacy Collection that inspires the continued work of AAJ.

  • The ‘Protect the Archives’ campaign: Alumnae were asked to consider sponsoring one day a month at $32 to help sustain the cool storage and insurance protection. With just 30 committed alumnae each month the $960 monthly storage costs would be covered! Join the campaign today by clicking on alwaysajudson.org- ‘monthly giving’ !

  • Alabama Women’s History Museum: The vision for this new concept was shared and has the opportunity to illuminate the historical past, interpret the contemporary, and give voice to the future of women’s extensive contributions to the state of Alabama. The Judson Legacy Collection and story would serve as the foundation for the museum.  Dr. Gore stated that our initial goal is to house the museum in a building on the Judson campus recognizing that the other buildings would need to be utilized to prosper and serve the city of Marion and the outlying communities well. We will continue to update you regularly as plans develop and hope you are excited about this potential project that would honor our Judson Legacy and so many other important contributions of Alabama women!
